This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.</p><p><b>Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>The work offers flexible hours.</li><li>Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data</li><li>Leverage statistical methods and/or machine learning to discover patterns and behaviors of entities; use query and visualization tools, such as DataXplorer and GMAE, to present question focused datasets in a story-like manner</li><li>Work with various domains of metadata to develop new methodologies and techniques for automated data characterization</li><li>Analyze and develop requirements to support the characterization and ingestion of new and existing data types</li><li>Collaborate with customer teams to understand direct mission needs and requirements; devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data; and collaborate with customer teams to understand mission needs.  </li><li>The team is looking for someone that is knowledgeable with data enrichment/conversion methods, familiar with data ontologies/schemas, strong knowledge of structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON), and has database experience.</li><li>Java, Python, analytic development experience, and working knowledge of NiFi are highly desired.</li></ul><p><b>Key Requirements:</b></p><p>To be considered for this position you must have the following:</p><ul><li><strong><u>Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.</u></strong> </li><li>Professional/Education experience: Eight (8) years’ experience software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. </li><li>U.S. Citizenship.</li><li>Works well independently as well as on a team. </li><li>Strong communication skills. </li><li><strong>Cloud Developer Certification is required.</strong><br>o AWS Certified Developer-Associate<br>o AWS DevOps Engineer Professional<br>o Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)<br>o Elastic Certified Engineer<br>(Possession of a Cloud Developer certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.)</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>Minimum of 6 recent years of development experience.</li><li>Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering. Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software. Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance.</li><li>Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.</li></ul><p><b>Desired Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Analytic development experience using scripting languages such as Python and Scala to use statistical libraries against data</li><li>Skilled with big data processing frameworks such as Pig, MapReduce and Spark to scale algorithms over large volumes of data</li><li>Experience employing combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets</li><li>Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining</li><li>Skilled with data flows, Pig scripting, Hadoop MapReduce, and various analytic tools</li><li>Skilled working with development and SE teams, other stakeholders agencies, and leadership</li><li>Knowledge of data indexing and analytic development</li><li>Experience working with cloud service providers and data stewards</li><li>Demonstrated experience in network metadata processing, manipulation, and analysis in support of intelligence analysis</li></ul><p><b>Location:</b> Annapolis Junction, MD</p><p><b>Salary Range:</b> The salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 to $280,000.
