Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong> BASIC PURPOSE</strong></p> <p>The purpose of the Registered Dietician is to support the Medically Tailored Meals team with nutrition planning, program development and quality assurance.</p> <p><strong> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ol> <li>Conduct intake and program eligibility for Medically Tailored Meals services</li> <li>Conduct nutrition assessments</li> <li>Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans</li> <li>Review and monitor all meal and/or grocery plans for Medically Tailored Meals</li> <li>Ensure menu options are equally nutritious and culturally appropriate</li> <li>Plan and conduct routine nutrition workshops and trainings</li> <li>Coordinate with others agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care</li> <li>Coordinate medical referrals in coordination with contracted managed care plans</li> <li>Participate in program and agency trainings as assigned</li> <li>Maintain accurate participant records in various information management systems; and generate reports as requested</li> <li>Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA standards</li> <li>Maintain a highly detailed and organized filling system</li> <li>Ensure intake and care procedures utilize harm reduction and trauma informed care principles</li> <li>Check and respond to emails and voicemails on a regular basis</li> <li>Adhere to confidentiality standards</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ol> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ol> <li>Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level</li> <li>High degree of confidentiality</li> <li>Able to endorse and promote The Salvation Army’s mission</li> <li>Computer literate, in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook preferred</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</li> <li>Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills</li> <li>Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks</li> </ol> <p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</strong></p> <ol> <li>Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or related field.</li> <li>Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), required</li> <li>Must possess food handler’s certification</li> </ol> <p><strong> </strong><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ol> <li>Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis</li> <li>Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects</li> <li>Ability to reach overhead</li> <li>Ability to operate telephone</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs.</li> <li>Ability to operate a computer</li> <li>Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information</li> <li>Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.</li> </ol> <p>Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.  A qualified person with a disability may request a modification or adjustment to the job or work environment in order to meet the physical requirements of the position.
